I’ve been a Star Wars fan for many years, since watching The Empire Strikes Back in the theater in 1980 when I was 10 years old.
I remember reading the novelization of that movie over and over again, as well as for A New Hope and Return of the Jedi. I couldn’t get enough. I managed to find Splinter of the Mind’s Eye by Alan Dean Foster at some point, and then started Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn series when they came out. I also read some Han Solo books.
But after that, I never read any other Star Wars books, what’s now called the EU (Expanded Universe) or Legends. The recent sequel trilogy brought back my love of Star Wars, and I’ve begun reading some of the books that have come out since (considered “canon”).
I’m now on a mission to read more of the canon novels, and maybe eventually dip into some of the EU/Legends books at some point. At first I found the world of Star Wars books a bit bewildering, but really I’m just going with what I’m drawn to.
My intention with this blog is to help others learn a little about the Star Wars books that are out there, maybe help them figure out where to start, and just to share my thoughts about what I’ve read.
Happy reading! And of course,
